Kids Parties for Hospital Stays

This is a party blog. A place where I get to share fun, pretty, memorable parties. Today, I have something else I have to share. It is still party related:)but it is also personal. I am so fortunate that I get to make people smile with creating memories. Brides, Mom’s, Friends, Colleagues, Grandparents, Dad’s, but most importantly kids.  I LOVE planning kids parties, not because I have to convince 3 year olds they don’t want a character party but a dinosaur party instead, but because I feel every child should be celebrated.  I was on Twitter a few weeks ago, and saw Huffington Post was holding a contest with the guys from The Buried Life. (contest is here) The topic: What is on MY bucket list? I don’t want to jump out of a plane, I don’t want to run a marathon, I don’t want to go to an exotic island and hang with monkeys, though that might be fun:)Please read my submission. I have 2 things. I want to write a kid’s how to party book and start an organization to give kids in the hospital on their birthday the products they need to have a party in their room. Coming from the concept of my party boxes I used to have (which were put on hold due to a potential buyer of that line) There. It’s in the universe. It’s on the  Huffington Post for goodness sake, I NEED to make this happen. Want is not even an option at this point. I keep saying I will get to it. Now is that time. Here is that kick I needed, my concept is out there for everyone to see….and to hold me accountable.

So here I go. I am putting my emotions, heart, PR skills, marketing mojo and I am going to make this happen! As much as I think I can make this happen myself, I can’t. I NEED you. For starters, if you would share my entry with your friends. On my entry, you can click one of the buttons to tweet, email, or via Facebook or of course a comment at the end of the post is GREATLY appreciated! Right now there are 25 finalists. Next week The Buried Life will chose their top entries, which then goes to voting from you. The winner, The Buried Life and the Huffington Post will help make the wish come true! Yup, this could happen. I could be bringing party supplies to children’s hospitals soon! Here is my desperation kicking in, please share my story. That’s it. No money, no first borns, just get my story out there. Ok if you know a book publisher that may help too:)Please, also bare with me when I tweet and facebook share the heck out of this:)

newportFILM Friendraiser

We were fortunate enough, to turn a cold winter night into a warm Glam Hollywood event! Guests were decked in their Old Hollywood best attire, drank signature drinks provided by Figenza & Svedka Vodka and nibbled on treats provided by Garnish Events. Red, Gold, and glam were the colors of choice which we used enhanced lighting to achieve this look.

Blueberry Lemonade Cocktail

When Spring hits in New England, honestly all we think about is summer is in arms reach. Getting ready to hang out with friends on the deck, evening swims at the beach, and cocktail parties. Have you heard of the drinks Sparkling Ice? If not you have to check them out.  It is 0 calorie, gluten free sparkling water. My Dad who is diabetic, gave up soda and started drinking this in it’s replacement and his sugar level has gone down (now if we could get him to give up the sweets!) As described on their website:
“Sparkling ICE is an excellent source of B-Vitamins, Vitamin D and antioxidants.    Sparkling Ice also contains caffeine-free Green Tea Extract, which is known to have powerful levels of antioxidants. Antioxidants are substances that protect your body’s cells from harmful molecules called free radicals. Free radicals are a by-product of your body’s normal processes, and are also thought to be caused by pollutants and other environmental exposure.”

Here is a light, refreshing, and easy to make cocktail recipe that I came up with using Sparkling Ice‘s Lemonade drink. Try it at your next backyard get together.
