Reader Party :: Teddy Bear Baby Shower

This teddy bear baby shower was submitted by Tricia of Pure Dymond Events. Tricia was inspired by our Twins Birdie baby shower that was featured in The Baby Guide Magazine! Tricia says: “I would say the best one to describe some of the elements we liked were from the Twins Baby Shower. We loved the way the polka dots were incorporated into the theme. So what we did was try to mix polka dots, some stripes and solids to give the party a contrast. Not to mention she was really in love with chocolate and baby blue for the color scheme.”

The planning of the baby shower as told by Tricia:

“This was a baby shower for someone that has been with us from day one. This young lady has truly been a lifesaver in helping me to get to where I am now. If it wasn’t for her I am not sure how far I would be right now. One day she called me and  told me she was pregnant and I knew I wanted to do her couture baby shower. She has done so much for me that it was the least I could do for  her. It was even more exciting because this was her first baby and it was a boy. When we came up with the theme to do teddy bears, I thought to myself I wanted to make it more chic and add a floral centerpiece along  with a fabulous candy buffet. I wanted to make sure that I kept the color scheme simple but making sure the other elements pop. This teddy bear inspired baby shower theme was one of my favorites.”

Gotta Get :: Calendar Necklace

How fun are these necklaces from Dalla Nonna?!  This Calendar necklace is a great present for a significant celebration in your life. Wedding day, child’s birthday, your own birthday, the day you went cancer free, day you graduated high school or college. The options are endless.

DIY :: Conversation Hearts Necklace

I am a fan of bib necklaces…and the Valentine favorite conversation hearts! So let’s make a candy necklace. Here is the DIY for this conversation heart bib necklace. Fun for the kids…and adults;)

1. Supplies – Conversation Hearts, felt, glue gun, scissors, and ribbon

2. Cut out a piece of felt in the shape you may want your necklace, I was going for a pendant look (laying out your pattern before hand helps determine size) you could also just glue pattern right on to felt and trim later.

3. With your glue gun, start gluing the backs of the conversation hearts to the felt, again in any pattern you would like. Once pattern is complete, trim off excess felt around perimeter of pattern.

4. Flip necklace over and glue the center of the ribbon (ribbon size will depend on recipients neck size, make sure plenty of room to make a bow, you will be safe with 2 yards of ribbon) on the back of the piece. Fold ribbon over so it will glue up the back of the pattern (this is so it will lay flat on neck) Secure ribbon with glue. Flip over and tie ends of ribbon in to bow.

Asian Inspired Beach Party

As an event and wedding planner…we ALWAYS have a plan B, most times a C & D too! This party was a Plan B. Originally this was supposed to be a backyard poolside party for a new house remodel, but it was going to rain. I know, what about a tent? Tent was not an option. So we moved it to the beach club! Here is where the inspiration came from:

and the rest of the party decor set up.
